DIY the green way with Ben & Jerry’s
Ben & Jerry's Irish Climate Change College Ambassador, Cara Augustenborg's quest for Green DIY continues this week with her 'Eco Learning House'.
For one day only, Saturday September 27th, this custom built 'house' will be on show at Dundrum Town Centre, to demonstrate how to DIY enthusiasts can carry out home improvements the green way.
Fully equipped to combat eco challenges, the Green DIY Learning House includes solar energy panels, eco textiles, eco friendly CFL & LED bulbs along with other products and equipment all designed to lower carbon footprints and reduce the strain on the environment.
Cara Augustenborg said; "The Learning house is designed to illustrate just how easily DIY problems can be solved in an eco friendly way. I always think the easiest way to learn something is to do it yourself. The Learning house lets people pop in and see exactly how that is done."
In addition to launching the Learning house, Augustenborg's recently launched a website as part of her campaign as Ireland's 2008 Ben & Jerry's Climate Change Ambassador. www.greendiy.ie is an interactive website that catalogues environmentally friendly DIY solutions to household fix-it problems.
The Ben & Jerry's Climate Change College is a partnership between Polar Explorer Marc Cornelissen and Ben & Jerry's, and is supported by WWF International. Both parties are passionate about tackling global climate change and thanks to their shared values and experiences have established this unique mission against the melt.
