eBay.ie predicts sales of 'short shorts' to soar with Ronaldo's style influence

Thanks to the rising temperatures, online retailer eBay has already seen a sharp rise in sales of men's 'short shorts'. Sales are up over 250% in the last month alone, with this figure expected to rise following Ronaldo's influence on Irish fans over the past 7 days.

Since Ronaldo's arrival in Ireland last week for the warm up for the Celtic vs Real match, eBay.ie predicts a marked increase in the sale of "short shorts" as footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is paving the way for guys to get their legs out this summer.

Xposé's Lisa cannon infamously snuck into the strictly 'sports reporters' press conference last week in Kildare where she asked Ronaldo about his shorts. "We like your little shorts, your new shorts that you've been wearing lately. They're going down quite well," said Lisa. "They've got your attention, yeah?" Ronaldo replied, producing a frenzied laugh from his inquisitor.

Julia Hutton-Potts, eBay Pop Culture Specialist says "The current trend of male hot pants shows that if something is hot in the news then it is hot on eBay. With bargain prices across the site, it looks like both prices and men's shorts will be low this Summer. For the girls' sake, let's hope the sun shines!"
