Online music TV comes of age with the launch of MUZU TV

Sony BMG First Major Label On Board

16 JULY, 2008 Dublin - MUZU TV (www.muzu.tv) announces the beta launch of its unique video platform, purpose built for the music industry, enabling fans and artists to create their own Music TV channels to broadcast on the web.

Ciaran Bollard , MUZU TV Co-founder and Business Development Director, said: "We're extremely excited about the launch of MUZU TV which gives fans free access to thousands of hours of music videos, concerts, documentaries, tutorials, and rare classic music TV shows like The Tube streamed in high quality.

On MUZU TV, fans can create a personalised Music TV channel to share with friends and embed on their social networking sites. They can also interact with artists and other fans, as well as discover and share music, all legally and at no cost.

For the industry, MUZU TV offers multiple opportunities for music content owners to distribute their video on the web and generate income through an ad-supported revenue model in a professional, rights protected environment.

A wide cross-section of the music industry including; artists, venues, festivals, music magazines etc., have already signed up to MUZU TV. These include over 200 international labels and content producers including Ministry of Sound, Defected Records, Cherry Red Records, Eagle Rock, SPV, Planet Rock Profiles, Hollywood Music Inc., Ninja Tune and many others.

Recognising MUZU TV's unique offering, SONY BMG is the first major music company to sign a content deal with the new site, giving users in the UK and Ireland access to its library of videos from the label's global artist roster including The Ting Tings, Foo Fighters, Kylie, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and MGMT.
