People's Market goes classically Grecian this Spring Summer 2010

London street style brand People's Market, brainchild of fashion legend Dexter Wong, steps back in time to Ancient Greece with a diverse and eye grabbing collection inspired by the creation of the rose in antiquity by the Olympian Gods. The mystical, flora collection blooms with a selection of magical tops, cardigans, blouses, jeans, dresses and trousers.

The Spring Summer 2010 collection by People's Market features wonderfully light materials such as silks, cottons, crepes, gauze, and lace, presented in a rich bouquet of smooth creams, powder pinks, burnt orange, ash greys and pitch blacks. These are highlighted by forest greens and sky blues, perfect for budding Aphrodites.

True to theme, the embellishments are distinctly floral in being. Petals frame hems and gather across busts and shoulders, whilst pleats skirt across necklines. Grecian inspired draping also appears on blouses and dresses. Prints appear in florals and vines in a variety of guises- from abstract stencils to water colours and leafy paisley. Fauna adopts a mythical form as butterfly wings attach themselves to limbs and scenes appear depicting the tale of the rose's birth.

Key items for Spring Summer 2010 include the delicate Leocardi dress, featurinhg rich rose heads dancing across white, layered chiffon. The burnt orange Descott dress features a rich neo-classical paisley-esque print and with black jewels embellished across its high neck. Finally, the acquamarine Deroma top features climbing vines with a smattering of hot red lips. The bust is framed by a bow, which leads to black gauze shoulder for Grecian drama.
