Tower Records celebrates Record Store Day
Tower Records, the 100% Irish owned, independent record store is very proud to be taking part in the second annual Record Store Day taking place on Saturday April 18th. World Record Store Day was founded in the US and was set up to celebrate the art of music and the unique culture surrounding independently owned record stores. 'Tower Live' will host special guest performances on the day from One Day International, Story of Hair and very special guest Neil Hannon of the Divine Comedy.
World Record Store Day was set up in 2007 and is now celebrated on the third Saturday of April each year. Since then it has gone global with over 1,000 stores taking part internationally. Metallica officially kicked off Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in San Francisco on April 18th 2008. For full details of this year's worldwide celebrations visit www.recordstoreday.com.
