Tower Records Celebrates Beatlemania with Tom Dunne
This Wednesday, 9th September 2009, is Beatles' Day. Tower Records, the Irish-owned, independent record store, joins worldwide Beatlemania celebrations with a special Beatles' Day lineup including live breakfast with Tom Dunne on Newstalk; live instore performances and the official launch of 14 digitally remastered Beatles studio albums.
Remastered Beatles Albums
After nearly a 22-year wait, digitally remastered versions of all the Beatles studio albums will be launched into musical history with all the hisses and mistakes polished away.
The digitally remastered versions of all of the Beatles studio albums will be launched in store at Tower Records on the day and include the Beatles' 12 studio albums and Magical Mystery Tour as well as Past Masters Vol. I and II, which will be packaged as one collection. A crew of engineers at London's Abbey Road Studios have spent four years working on the remasters in an effort to preserve the authenticity and the result is mind-boggling sound clarity. The demand for Beatles remasters has steadily increased since 1987, when Capitol/EMI first released the Beatles' discography on CD with what many audiophile fans deemed substandard sound quality compared to the original vinyl.
